Hi Pat!

Very educational postings. I've owned TI for months and saw it double and then go down to almost where I bought it. I've been buying more on its way down.

ADI has recently proven that they are really good at building system-on-a-chip solutions which will be crucial down the road. TI talks a lot about it, but has yet to create one as integrated as ADI's. Lucent's chip is ideal for base station applications due to its low power. Even though, LU is a much bigger company, they are competing in so many fields (data networking against focused Cisco and 3COM, DSPs against focused TI and ADI, wireless against focused Nokia, Motorola...) Motorola has been having delivery problems as of late, but is expected to come back strong after the reorganizations (lost market share to ADI while Lu and TXN kept theirs).

Who's going to win? My bet is on TXN and ADI (own some ADI but much less than TXN). The DSP market is getting tougher though. Any thoughts?
