That's a position that people retreat to: Evolution says nothing about origins .... The theory of Natural Selection is not the Grand Unifying theory of the universe. It's a specific theory about changes that result when inheritance is nearly all from parent to child. That happens to correspond with life on this planet up to now, but it does not explain all change and it does not explain origins.


When you said it doesn't explain all change, you said a mouthful. Because really significant changes involve the origin of something new, like say bioluminescence or vision.
