Jacobs awarded contract option at NASA Kennedy Space Center; receives contract from Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel Commission; and receives industry recognition for Mt Isa Mines Project (JEC) : Co announced that it has been awarded a modification to extend the Test and Operations Support Contract at NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The cost-plus-award-fee option for the baseline work extends the contract for a period of two years and is valued at $172.8 million. The contract's indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity ordering provision, with a maximum order limit of $500 million for the life of the contract, was also extended for a concurrent two-year period.

JEC also announced that it was awarded a contract from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel Commission to serve as the design manager for a new tunnel along the 23-mile toll crossing at Thimble Shoals Channel between Virginia Beach, Va., and the Delmarva Peninsula. Company officials did not disclose the contract value.

In addition, the co also announced that, together with MCA Group, it received significant industry recognition of its achievements on a project to extend the life of a large crude ore bin for Mt Isa Mines in Queensland, Australia.
