Natural selection

Natural Selection explains the gain in information complexity in the special case where information flow is always and only from parent to child. It's not just the differential survival, but the fact that it is only the survivors which pass on that information. Furthermore, they don't pass on acquired traits no matter how useful they might have been to the parent. This is why Natural Selection explains organisms body types, but does not explain human language or other information flows that don't fall into this specific subcategory.
