Darn those pesky users and their "idle banter". They're always interrupting the SI crew's development of non-user requested "enhancements" by complaining about insignificant little things that bother those users. Like, performance. Speaking of performance ... Right now, a single window, single tab instance of SI is the only user application in my system. A system profile shows it was using between 17.2% and 33% of my CPU cycles for a while. Then, it slowed "all the way" down to 11%. Then, I started writing this post ... which requires the text editor ... and the usage jumped back up to 31%. Hmmmm ... You know, if SI had a reasonably competent software engineer who would take the time to actually THINK about this whole performance issue, I bet that reasonably competent software engineer would be able to improve the performance of this resource pig in a relatively short period of time. Just a guess, mind you. But, as you know, I am an eternal optimist, so perhaps I'm being too hopeful about a positive outcome of any REAL analysis by a REAL software engineer. A reasonably competent one, of course. Sure is a pretty day. TED
