Were these feminists opposing the statue even alive during WWII??

Some on this board will have vivid memories of WWII-----as I do. The celebrating of the military men and everyone associated with the war------such as Waves and WACS. Celebrated.

One of my Aunts now in her 80's danced the jitterbug with the best jitterbugger in the local town. I sat with my Grandfather watching dancing and the bonfires and the crowds.

When they danced she was thrown over his head and landed on her feet still dancing.

I marveled at their talent an agility.

The statue fashioned after the picture is to be remembered------ not some feminist who is afraid of having a victory kiss planted on her.
