There is an interesting problem for the next week, because both Rory and Lisa insisted multiple times that this was simply an event which was planned for a long time. AMD has not (so far) in fact warned for the Qtr. If next week we find out that either the Qtr or forward guidance has materially declined, than Lisa will start her tenure with a rather serious credibility problem, because of how she and Rory adamantly claimed the transition timing was a preplanned event only.

But even aside from that, if this was simply a planned event, and envisioned as beneficial, then the way the board and management did it, decimated their stock price, which by itself is a pretty good indication that they are kind of clueless.

Next week will clear some things up!
