If you are part of a collection of hill tribes constantly engaged in survival warfare for water and animals (and women) and you need to whip your warriors into a frenzy of hubris in order to make any headway in the survival game...what kind of a god will you need to motivate the troops and keep them in line? An Eckhart Tolle? Or a remorseless, mercurial, demon from Hell?? :-) :_)

You need a different god to hold back the flood waters of the Nile, than you need to protect your warriors in bloody JIHAD!
