How-to-Fix-Performance-Problems recipe ... a primer by TED ...

1) Determine there is a performance problem (that should be easy enough)
2) Determine where the problem exists (time of day, USA region, common ISP, whatever)
3) If there seems to be an environmental issue, research the common environment parameters. Then eliminate the unique parameter.

... the following assumes it is NOT an environmental issue, and could be related to all or specific SI features.

1) Determine if it is isolated to a specific function (STOCKTALK, MARKETS, etc.)
2) If so, fix it.

... the following assumes it is NOT a specific SI feature, it must be system wide

1) Assume it's a browser issue
2) Assume it's a JavaScript issue
3) Create a version of the product that displays the text of posts ... NOTHING ELSE. No other components. No headers, no footers, no ads. El ZIPPO !!
4) Add in one component at a time until performance takes a hit.
5) Fix that component
6) Start over at the top of this recipe.

Loop until done.

Sure is a pretty day.
