10/10/14 Contest update
A gang of bungee jumpers invaded Wall Street this week, but the elasticity of their bungee cords couldn’t hold up to the weight of investor apprehension.
And by Friday’s close, the Contest median had dropped to a -4.77% YTD loss (vs. a 3.75% YTD gain a week ago). Although both were down for the week, the larger-cap Nasdaq Biotech Index remained comfortably in the black, up 15.84% YTD (vs. up 21.48% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 2.39% YTD (vs. up 7.16% YTD a week ago).
DIEGO’s portfolio, up 61.68% YTD, remained in first place, with WATCHIT’s portfolio, up 59.26% YTD, holding on to second place and DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 47.61% YTD, still in third place.
At Friday's close, a mere 19 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while just 9 of the 46 were beating the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (FMI) is down -18.22% YTD.
