Style Pts., no apologies necessary. But getting back to my point now, knowing that you need two phone lines, and possibly three if you want incoming phone calls, doesn't this product look like a solution looking for a market that is probably not there.

Sure there are some that anecdotally will get this kludge and probably like it. But I have had two phone lines, where one was for unlimiited use, so I could access the internet for flat rate, and the other minimum measured for incoming phone calls. But with this bonded solution I would need two unlimited service and a third for incoming if I wanted to take advantage of it's capabilities. I have solved my need for a second line right now by it just having one and it being busy when I'm on the net. I mostly connect at 52kb anyway (x2 to ibm.net). But my point is whatever level of convenience I want, I am going to have to add cost to use a bonded modem.

But in my neighborhood, not yet on my block, but close, I can get cable modem. $40/mo which when available to me will be net zero additional cost + greater convenience. I can flush my isp cost of $20/mo. and change my phone service back from unlimited and I will have money in my pocket, I will have a free (available, that is) phone, and I can be connected 7x24. I will also be blasting at 1Meg.

So when I look at what some marketing type says about there being 22% penetration of second lines in homes, I say so what. They're missing the point. It's not about phones it's about cost and convenience. These aren't things that phone companies and modem marketing guys like to hear, because they want as much as they can get for everything.

But this Shotgun thing imo is just plain lame brained. I would hope ASND has more arrows in their quiver than MPP support for bonded modems that I don't think anyone will want, given any other option.

Here take a look at this:

mediaone.com

I'm not touting this over say xDSL either, it's just what is available shortly to me right here, right now (well almost right now).
