The reason Atmel did not release any good news is
every good news they released recently did not lift the stock due to the Asian and the market downturn. So, I think that they are saving the good news and release them when the market sentiment is better. I talked with IR a few weeks ago and they felt that the stock was not responding well to good news.

You should notice that every good news in the market is countered by the brokerage houses with downgrades and negative comments from the analysts.

For example, last Thursday, the SIA released news showing increased global sales and indicated that there is still strong sales in Asia. Immediately, on Monday, several brokerage houses countered with downgrades on the semi leaders (Intel, Applied Materials). All they have to do is to knock down the leaders, and the rest will follow.

This is a game they are playing.
