Zombie Shoot! A local club has an annual Zombie shoot this time of year as a "thank you" to it's patrons. They charge $45, run the course one person at a time. Stage one is a shoot with 6 zombies at varying distances. You must shoot out their "brains" It is about a 4" ball on a string that is stuck in their heads by friction. They count the shots to hit all targets. That is the tie breaker. I shot only 5 targets, 10 shots. I shot 4 times at one of the brains, dunno why I missed it. Stage 2 is 5 zombies from 5 yds to 25 yds away, you have 10 shots to hit them. One is a pop up in front of you at 5 yds. They said I only hit 3. I disagree, but the score is the score. The next 2 stages you use guns and ammo from the range. Remington 870 pump in 12 gauge. You have to shoot the zombie eyes (clay birds) about 15 yds down range. Got all 5. Next is a gun they rotate every year. Last year was a suppressed SCAR. This year it was a Kriss Vector in .45 ACP. What a great gun. Had an EoTech and you had to hit 5 bottles and 5 clay discs about 3 inches in diameter from about 10 yds. Got all 10. Great little gun, but not worth $1600 for a pistol caliber rifle. Oh yea, at the end, each person running the course goes through the equivalent of a TSA airport style check, then is given a Glock rigged for Simunition and goes through the shoot house in a live fire exercise to kill zombies. Had to clear 5 rooms with zombies appearing from anywhere. Very fun. Took my two sons and one girlfriend. Best Friday night to spend with the kids.
