I got the pneumonia shot a few years ago and was told it was "probably" good for life. Since then, I've heard of people getting a booster several years after the original. Seems like a good idea.

I've avoided getting the flu shot for the past 4 years and, fortunately, did not catch the flu. Right now, I'm about 2 weeks into a bad head and chest cold.... and I've been miserable. I decided just this morning that as soon as I'm fully recovered from this cold, I'm getting the flu shot this year. If a cold has knocked me out of commission, as this one certainly has, how much more miserable would I likely be if I should pick up the flu? Not gonna chance it this year.
