Gentrification a two edged sword. Nice for economic activity keeping our economy afloat but does nothing to address the continued squeeze on the working and middle class. Is a shame I wasn't around to marvel at what our great walkable cities were actually affordable, safe and thriving for the working class like Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and SF back in the 1950's..

Rarely are cities affordable except in their slums. Americans have it a bit confused...........the most valuable land should be in the center city; not the suburbs. Thanks to white flight Americans got it twisted around......not its going back to the way its supposed to be economically.
