Attention AMD Investors! Ali Chen has decided that since software is optimized for Intel processors AMD will now focus on producing an alternative processor designed to run the large installed base of available software. It seems that somewhere along the line they assumed that software developers would be more than happy to provide two versions of their product: one optimized for AMD and the other for Intel. It simply slipped their mind that ZERO compiler vendors provide those optimizations. As soon as that's available I'm quite sure that software vendors will be more than happy to QA both AMD and Intel versions and there's plenty of space on CD-ROMs for two copies of everything.
