Hazmat-suit makers resume rally; new Ebola case in Dallas
MADRID (MarketWatch) -- Shares of companies that have recently rallied on Ebola fears were surging once again in premarket trading on Wednesday. Hazmat-suit maker Lakeland Industries Inc. LAKE, -26.10% and Alpha Pro Tech Ltd. APT, +20.24% which makes protective gear such as facemasks, were up 11% and 12%, respectively. Shares of Versar Inc. VSR, +32.14% whose PPS unit makes hazmat suits and mobile decontamination shelters, surged 12% as well. The Texas Department of State Health Services said a second health-care worker has tested positive for the deadly virus. On Tuesday, shares of companies trading on Ebola fear fell after the World Health Organization said the rate of new cases in the hardest-hit areas of West Africa had slowed. But it also said as many as 10,000 new cases a week could be reported by early December.
