Paul and All, Can anybody comment on the likelyhood of MU selling MUEI anytime soon? With analysts expecting MU to start losing $ in the current Q it seems to me that they would want to raise cash, sell off non core assets, downsize, restructure, and refocus on their core business in an attempt to return to profitability.
If they were ever seriously considering selling MUEI, IMHO now would be the time to do it before MUEI stock price falls from its current pathetic $9 to 6,5,4 ? MUEI makes great products, but has the worst management team in the industry. I believe MU dumps more than just over priced DRAM on poor ol' MUEI. If any of the big boxmakers wanting exposure to the direct channel (CPQ, IBM, HWP, NEC etc.) were to buy MUEI and install a competent management team this unit would kick some serious booty. The difference between MUEI and DELL ? QUALITY MANAGEMENT.
Comments?
Regards, Lee
PS- Can anyone find out MUEI's current inventory of DRAM? I bet MU is stuffing them full of DRAM, and as the price plummets MUEI writes off the excess inventory along with all the DD's, CPU's, modems etc. that vendors can sucker these fools into taking posession of. Why else would a "build to order direct marketer" have such a huge inventory and sustain such huge losses on that inventory. |
