Depends. If I see a sale on porterhouse steaks (sometimes they are as low as $6.99 a pound) I will buy some and seal each in a separate bag. The thinking is that resealing anything that has had meat previously sealed in it runs the risk of bacterial infection... so I keep steaks in separate bags in the freezer. And then I toss the bags once I open them and use the steaks. The bags are fairly inexpensive so tossing them (recycle bin) is no big deal.... at least not for me.
