Pigboy,

Unfortunately, us long-termers are now looking to 1998, the same way we looked to 1997. Somehow, I get the impression that 1998 will finally vindicate us. <g>

Here is another often overlooked point, and that is valuation. Some of us have speculated that the Brocade IPO could be valued somewhere around $500 Million. Even figuring a 4:1 overestimate, that leaves them somewhere around $125 Million. At current levels, Ancor has a market cap of only $60 Million. Is Brocade twice the company that Ancor is? Or four times the company? Or eight times the company? I don't think so.

By most accounts, Ancor has the superior switch. Isn't that technology worth at LEAST $60 Million? $60 Million is pocket change for some of the big names in this industry. I don't want to see a buyout, but at these levels, I think it becomes more likely.
