Thats Canadian dollars, not US. The US is in line with your numbers. Efficiency is key. MFE did over 800 minutes of 100% CGI animation this year. That's more than the entire rest of the industry. That scale and production process helps the economics. Obviously you are using the same asset base spread over more minutes/dollars. Keeps the competitors out too. Remember, they are the second largest user of SGI workstations in the animation business and get very good rates for leasing/purchases etc. THey are also the second largest SoftImage user. That helps too.
