Dear Acan,

If your e-mail client displays an attachment to an e-mail notification of a post or PM from SI, those attachments are simply the graphics that are part of the e-mail, like the SI logo.

Most e-mail programs will render graphics that are attached to an html e-mail, but will not - without some specific authorizing action by the user - automatically render those graphics if they refer to an image on an outside web server; the reason is that this could be used to verify receipt, something mass-spammers would have a field day with for address harvesting purposes. Since we want users to be able to view our messages without taking an additional step for those messages to display properly, the graphics are attached, "in-line".

In other words, the attachment is really part of the message itself.

Regards,

@Dima
