No-Knead Onion Rolls

realsimple.com

I baked these recently. I whisked 3/8 tsp instant yeast into the flour, mixed the other ingredients together and then into the flour, loosely covered the container, and stuck it in a cold oven for 20 hrs.

Mixed a couple handfuls of flour into the dough. Patted it out into a disc about 1 1/2 inch thick. Cut the disc into 16 blobs. Found they wouldn't roll easily into neat balls. So I rolled each blob in flour and dabbed the top into the onion flakes reserved for the topping. (I had spread the flakes in one layer on a sheet of foil placed on a cookie sheet.)

I could get only 12 of the blobs into the 9" X 13" pan, so I stuck the other four in a smaller pan. Covered with plastic wrap and let rise for two hours. Baked as in the recipe.

They turned out great. Next time I'll use two 9" X 13" pans and put eight blobs into each pan.
