Pax Romana , Pax Augusta..... the Prince of Peace = Emperor Augustus
en.wikipedia.org

Giving the credit where credit is definitely due, Augustus establishing a fair & just peace in all the empire plus diplomatic peace with Parthians etc. From this vantage it is within this stable framework many many cults could grow & flourish in reality. Not sure about all the later Christian propaganda that is heaped & piled on down the road, they seemed to have a great need for creating martyrs, just the same psychological instrument we see initiated by the prophet in Islam. ( Something very Darwinistic about this to me)

Seems we have a rival Messiah here for sure in the able ruler & Son of God Augustus:, read this very
carefully, this was one very inspired ruler, one could almost call him divine & heaven sent too:

Augustus faced a problem making peace an acceptable mode of life for the Romans, who had been at war with one power or another continuously for 200 years. [9] Romans regarded peace not as an absence of war, but the rare situation that existed when all opponents had been beaten down and lost the ability to resist. [6] Augustus' challenge was to persuade Romans that the prosperity they could achieve in the absence of warfare was better for the Empire than the potential wealth and honor acquired when fighting a risky war. Augustus succeeded by means of skillful propaganda. Subsequent emperors followed his lead, sometimes producing lavish ceremonies to close the Gates of Janus, issuing coins with Pax on the reverse, and patronizing literature extolling the benefits of the Pax Romana.
