No. They didn't. Why do you think I have to have an Iphone? The wire that comes to my house from the telephone works just fine most of the time. What they, and the corps, did do was make me, along with most other people, pick up the tab for the taxes they avoid paying. It's time to bump their rate up another 3 or 4%, since that worked out so well last year.
