Nothing like some light reading for the weekend... And then there is this video that is starting to make the rounds referring to BABA and BIDU, and other large cap Chinese companies that are structured as VIE (essentially holding companies).. It currently has 21,000 views, but will be interesting to see how that grows.. This is really an "interesting" view, given that BABA is now a huge part of the index and almost every major mutual or hedge fund holds a stake in it. What if the Chinese suddenly decided to declare that none of these listings are valid and that the holding company shares are worthless?? What would that do to our financial markets?
