The WSJ reported yesterday that Christmas store sales were doing very well in upscale stores (ie. Neiman Marcus, Saks) and not so well in the Sears & JC Penney's of the world. They didn't mention SME but this news concerns me if the trend holds for the rest of the year. Of course SME could be seeing tax loss selling at this time too, lot's of people bought this stock around $4...who knows...we'll see...Of course the next 1/4ly report will also speak to whether the turnaround program is working...
