"When corporations (and individuals) spend more time and effort seeking out narrow (but lucrative) tax favors and benefits instead of basing their decisions upon how best to compete and succeed in a free market then the rate of growth of the entire country is depressed."

Maybe some prozak would help?

Since Corporations can never be taxed it is a senseless waste of resources to try. Current tax rates on Corporations are one of the highest of any developed country. Corporations simply serve as a conduit for collecting taxes from those who consume their goods and services. Eliminate the corporate tax on earnings distributed to shareholders at a bare minimum. If we must tax them only tax on retained earnings.

While we are discussing it, it is way past time for a tax holiday on foreign earnings their are countless billions of dollars of earning trapped in foreign accounts due to the stupid US policy of taxing worldwide earnings. We are also one of the few countries that attempts to levy this double tax.
