Two Quarterdeck products have also been named as finalists by Software Publishers Association (SPA) for the "Excellence in Software" awards -- also known as the Codie Awards. SPA selected CleanSweep Deluxe as a finalist in the Best Consumer Software Upgrade category, and Quarterdeck's TuneUp.com Web site as a finalist in the Best Internet/Online Service category. Each year software industry professionals vote for the Codie finalists and in spring 1998 more than a thousand attend a televised event where the winners are announced from a pool of roughly 175 finalists in 35 different categories.
