**OT** Cable modem - Pae, I agree that you are right that the cable modems now require a little extra on the installation side. For instance the cable modem itself needs to plug into a NIC, because the serial interface just can't handle the data speeds. This means that you need a card in your computer in addition to the modem. Windows is not the easiest OS to get things working in as well. So I am sure that it is a fragile installation and connection. But this will get easier for sure. There's big money ahead for all these guys. And COMS and Motorola are going to be offering cable modems in stores next year, I think I read.

While Pittsburgh is not exactly a backwater, I seem to recall from visits there that the terrain is pretty difficult outside the downtown areas. I can appreciate that cable adoption rates might not be as high in the suburbs there as in other areas as much from availability as interest. I live in the Boston area. And I am actually surprised at the number of locations MediaOne is penetrating both here and in New Hampshire. Several areas that I would think of as rural.

In any event best of luck with it.

From a numbers pov, I think cable will be an option for a majority of users.
