Derec, <If I were microsoft, I would oppose any of my component be REPLACED(not in addition) at the point of SALE simplely because you must sale my product as is. It is up to the customer to decide..> COMPAQ is the CUSTOMER, they bought the product from MS, and must be free to do whatever they want at THEIR point of sale. You would be correct in case if you buy the shrink-wrapped MS box off the shelf. Big difference, IMHO.
