In the Middles Ages when an Italian City State was successfully toppled by invaders the depressed economy of that city would boom for several generations as money had been transferred from tight-fisted misers to new owners far more willing to spend.

The "trickle-down" previously promised by the misers actually came true.

Our economy is suffering terribly from very low tax rates on the wealthiest Americans. Raise wealth taxes on the wealthy and America will experience a boom of prosperity not seen since the 1950s.
