Came across this astute comment on the net:

"IMO there are 2 types of trolls. There are the trolls who post stupid/funny things that make people laugh and there are the trolls who are complete jackasses to everyone, insulting others to make themselves look cool. I think it's the latter type that everyone hates."
Nobody likes Trolls. Nobody likes Stalkers.

Trolls are narcissistic, sadistic, and psychopathic. They seek to be admired and they CRAVE attention. They get this attention by posting thousands and thousands and thousands of meaningless taunts and insults--devoid of content and never on topic. They are obviously very emotionally damaged (go figure!)--and generally lack any sense of empathy or social belonging.
