How To Make Homemade Sauerkraut in a Mason Jar thekitchn.com Most of the guys at my office are into food and one of them mentioned making sauerkraut. Well I was intrigued enough to try it tonight. My wife had a huge head of cabbage given to her and she used half of it to make soup this weekend. So I start my experiment with the remainder. A big jar and half head of lettuce and a tablespoon of pickling salt are all I'm into it so if it doesn't pan out I can put the lid on the jar and toss the works. I may give an update later next week on the progress.
