Well, if you're talking about the manufacturing of the M&M's, I'd guess that the process has been highly automated. But, not fully. Those conveyor belts can perform the same function over and over again with almost 0% error rate. Almost.
If you're talking about the rotting of teeth, then I think that particular process is fully automated. The entire process is as follows: Purchase the candy, open the bag, select a piece of candy, insert said piece into your mouth, chew vigorously, and then swallow. Lots of manual activity required in the overall process The rotting process itself is fully automated, though. So, let's just say the overall process is fully automated, too. Why quibble over minor technicalities?
If you're talking about the New Year's eve festivities, I can absolutely guarantee you that process is not fully automated. And, I hope it never progresses to that state. I could go into more detail here, but I'm afraid I'd get censored.
