I must run out - flying to NY in a couple of hours, but while there, will check out the book.

I think the the greatest modern delusion - madness of crowds, if you will - is the invention of permanent prosperity through means of... infinite borrowing.

In the old days, when a government would start printing paper money - or dilute the gold content of coins - people would notice. Nowadays, they can tuck away trillions in the form of "debt" - and everyone acts as if they seriously believe that it will be paid back. Nope - what they believe is that they'll be smart enough to get out in time, and leave someone else holding the bag.

Very corrupt - and it won't end well.
