Feed back loop does that. Economies are so much interconnected now that any fact here feeds a part of the economy elsewhere as you explained.

Expect cars to go down in price dramatically in he next few years as auto industry need to compete with the public transport.

Roads built for the car will be a burden to the state as there will be less private transportation money (in terms or car licenses and taxes) to keep them,
