I stayed up late to watch the Isles/King game last night. That was one of the best heavy weight fights I have seen in a long long time. The game was very clean with no brawls or fights. But the checking and hitting was brutal. I haven't seen this type of game in years. The Kings came out in the first period and almost ran the Isles out of the building. The Kings are big, very physical and ferociously check. After 5 minutes of the first period and down 1-0, the Isles decided to play. They matched the Kings physical play and began to hit and check every King in sight. The game became a hit fest. It was quite entertaining, up and down action, with tight checking and outrageous clean hits. Quick played great and kept the Kings in the game. What I saw was unbelievable. After the first 5 minutes, the Isles actually took the play away from the Kings and matched them hit for hit, check for check. That is no small feat. I have never seen the Isles play this type of game for 55 minutes. The Isles actually outplayed the Kings in Hollywood, but because of Quick, had to settle for a shoot out win.
