Your observations about the blue states and areas are largely correct. I've been meaning to formulate a reply, but Message 29798347 contains the essence of what's wrong with your apparent beliefs -- if you can understand the message therein.

There are extremely intelligent people contributing tremendous value whose personal experience lends credence to the idea that an entire economy can be managed; that in defiance of a butt-load of bad experience. They're concentrated in very blue areas

It appears that the tech sector has been re-learning old lessons and may have begun a shift away from faith in the blue model. The financial sector, recipients of crapitalisms benefits, remains largely glued to rotten ideas. Given time, I expect that will change.
