Flan,
Land drilling is likely to have wider swings in demand than offshore. That may result in better returns IF the demand remains strong and margins improve, but they are also likely to be more vulnerable to any slowdowns or even rumors of slowdowns.
As long as everything is capacity constrained, everyone should do well. But the land drillers and equipment suppliers are more likely to come into supply/demand balance sooner. Also, the contract durations tend to be shorter, so the response time to any real or imagined slowdowns is likely to be faster.
