Well, it's not as easy as that. Do you not agree that the US was single-handedly responsible for supporting and tolerating the kind of command-and-control Asian economies that are now being routinely lambasted? Look, nobody I think is saying that there are no changes to be made, but there are several major transitions to be made here with complex historical and cultural shades of gray that do not lend themselves to any simplistic and naive overlay of American-style capitalism that glorifies, nay, deifies the invisible hand [see the insufferable-of-late editorial pages of WSJ, my favorite capitalist bible].
