We take wire or metal sheet for granted now, extruded tubing & all shaped metal forms, but all had to be done by hand. Like cutting stones or gold leafing which they do in shops in India & Asia, hours & hours of grinding or pounding. When you go to the temple you can add a little gold leaf to add to its brightness & its good deed etc.

Gold & Silver's value in one great sense is the reflectivity, silver being the brightest reflective known element and gold never weathers & pretty shiny too. In a darkened room as the lights go dim, poilished silver will be the last thing you'll see.

And makes the best mirrors, telescopes and best -->conductivity as it turned out too.

(may God bless those little electrons that make everything possible in one sense)
