Agree with all your post. The one thing I'd add, is that neither the U.S. government, nor the Saudis, are going to be able to control events. They think they can; they have their plans and goals....the usual arrogance....but there will be unexpected consequences nobody planned, and nobody wants. Low oil prices will place a list of countries under severe economic stress. Economic stress always causes political and military stress. The U.S. may be happy to see Russia and Iran suffering, but what about Mexico, Nigeria, Indonesia? Those nations are full of suffering, angry, alienated young men with no prospects in life (= cannon fodder for extreme social/political/religious solutions).
