The Market Cap is a big part of what's pushing (or in this case pulling) the stock up.

The market cap is lower because of the massive buyback. The value of the company is more than it was, not less (see earnings per share) and as a result the stock really has no choice. It has to go up.

That lower Market Cap you're moaning about when seen in the context of current earnings is actually a sure indication that the stock is trading below market value.
