Well, I am not a cartel conspiracy advocate but I do not discount the power of the forces of evil to bypass the rules. The theory goes these folks shorted the stock heavily around 6-9 when they got in on the series S registration. So they were long and short early. Now with the convertible settlement of the series S they will get many shares of common if the price stays low into March 98. They can short more now (people tell me it can be done in Canada) and they drive the price lower. They get more for the first shorts and get more shares at conversion to cover the new shorts and they have a few extra to remain long with. Not a bad play, is it?
