HTZ - I figure if Carl Icahn loved this stock at $28.50, surely he will love it even more at $22. His record has been great and his picks have worked at least 8 out of 10.
Beside with only Avis to compete, HTZ's management only needs to be average to make some serious money. It shouldn't be that difficult to get all the computer system streamline if they put in the proper resources (capital, technical talents and management focus). I took a small position and cross my fingers that the 3 directors (Icahn appointees) will keep management focus on righting this ship. Big overhang must be the delay in restating the financials, may be I will get a better opportunity to load up. I think current management will do a big write down and simply take the hit now to clear the deck so-to-speak, blame the ex-CEO, ex-CFO, etc and take credit for the turn around in the subsequent quarters.
