N.J. “Safe Investing” Summit to Include "Big Crooks" and Top Investigators

  BY JEFF LAMM SPECIAL TO NEWJERSEYNEWSROOM.COM PISCATAWAY – Attendees at a “Safe Investing” Summit on Thursday, November 13 will hear directly from the convicted CFO of Crazy Eddie, Inc., the former Federal prosecutor in the “Wolf of Wall Street” case, and others, on how some of the most prominent investment fraud cases worked – and how New Jersey investors can protect themselves and their hard-earned money against fraud. 
  The “Safe Investing” Summit, free and open to the public and to news media, will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 13 at Rutgers University’s Busch Student Center in Piscataway. 
  Panel speakers will include Sam Antar, the convicted CFO of Crazy Eddie, Inc.; Daniel Alonzo, the former Federal prosecutor in the Stratton Oakmont case that inspired last year’s blockbuster “The Wolf of Wall Street”; Aaron Beam, the convicted CFO of HealthSouth Corporation; Rick Barry, the chief investigator into the First Jersey Securities fraud case, and Paul Roberts, an FBI Special Agent who handled the Madoff investigation.

  WHERE: Rutgers University's Busch Student Center (Multipurpose Room), 604 Bartholomew Road, Piscataway, NJ

  Representatives of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, AARP, and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and New Jersey Bureau of Securities also will serve as panelists or moderators.
