Yes they did. You are using the venacular term "ice age" to refer to the latest glacial - interglacial cycle. I let it slide because I don't think this forum can handle too many details at once, but to be accurate the last ice age is began 2 1/2 million years ago and is still going on. It is common to refer to the latest cycle within that age as the "ice age". I probably added confusion by referring to events which happened within a series of glacial-interglacial cycles.

The 'Ages' are for the most part defined by the punctuated evolutionary events that mark their boundaries.
