CO2 is a gas & depending on levels of concentration it can be a pollutant, can even be toxic & fatal. Man made C02 is always a pollutant since when we find it generated is always in conjunction with other toxic emmisions. And its being generated in enormous levels which we are monitoring & recording data now, coal burning is not 'clean' but if used must be made cleaner. (alternative energy is inplay ) In situations of this scale, wisdom is always err on the side of caution, fund the studies & continue the research. What is lovely is we have already implemented the changes to see falling levels now that will meet 2025 projected level cuts, its China India that is the bigger problem. see more skepticalscience.com
