"I looked at the entire thread and didn't get anything about a court case; only that you threatened them with a lawsuit."

You missed some of the details.

I never said that I 'threatened' a law suit.

After a year and a half of them completely ignoring EVERY ONE of my written communications, and their complete inability to prove *any* of their bogus double-billings (they never even tried), I simply replied (to their most recent dunning letter) that --- in the future --- ALL of their correspondence should be directed to my lawyer, not to me. That I was tired of their crap.

After that --- never heard another word from them about the '$30,000' alleged.

Just the chirping of crickets....

LATER ON they were prosecuted by local prosecutors for consumer fraud (among other charges), settled with several guilty pleas and large fines... the entire board resigned and the hospital chain was purchased from the (now disgraced) former owners and the NEW management from the new corporation is running a top-notch and reputable (IMO) operation now.

I have had a couple of major procedures there since and never had to deal with *any* fraudulent billing practices any more.

All above-board and transparent now and thoroughly satisfactory. (Even the food is better. :-)

(But the old guys? They paid and paid, because they were caught running the same scams at *several* of the hospitals and out-patient centers they used to be in charge of.)

Happy now?
